Expert sculptor Nicolas Moreton to run stone carving course in rural Leicestershire
Royal Society of Sculptors member, Nicolas Moreton, is running a stone carving course in July, and is encouraging those who wish to learn sculpting to join him.
The three-day course, held on 10th -12th July, is being run at Cowslip Meadows, Laughton on the outskirts of Market Harborough and is open to all.
Kate Gilbertson-Hart who runs Cowslip Meadows, a sustainable countryside retreat, said: “Nicolas Moreton will once again be holding his successful three-day carving course at Cowslip Meadows. It is suitable for a complete beginner or those who want to brush up their skills. His three-day intensive workshop will guide students through planning, carving and finishing their own stone sculpture.”
She added: “The course is set up for students to learn new skills in a fun sociable environment, the workshop includes use of tools, goggles and masks. Drawing materials are provided. Participants are advised to wear sensible work clothes and footwear.”
Kate said: “This is a super opportunity to gain knowledge from a celebrated practicing sculptor. The small group size allows for more individual attention from Nicolas; it is advisable to book in early as the course is very popular. Accommodation can be arranged within walking distance of the classes.”
