Leicestershire housebuilder lends a helping hand at RSPCA Woodside

RSPCA Woodside rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes hundreds of cats and dogs every year, operating across Leicestershire, Rutland and Peterborough. In March alone, the charity rehomed 30 cats and 13 dogs.

On Thursday 23rd April, four volunteers from Allison Homes East Midlands, Meg Lowe, Victoria Pointon, Lucy Coxon and Emma Weston, spent the morning helping out at the rescue centre.

During this time, the employees sorted through clothes donations the charity had received from the public, ensuring they’re suitable for selling in RSPCA Woodside shops across Leicestershire.

These volunteering efforts form part of the housebuilder’s initiative in which each employee is granted a dedicated volunteering day, encouraging them to spend time assisting at a charity of their choosing.

Hannah Cole, Head of Income Generation at RSPCA Woodside, said: “It means so much to us when local businesses like Allison Homes choose to spend their time supporting Woodside. Their help directly impacts the animals in our care, and it’s wonderful to see our community come together to make a difference.”

Meg Lowe, Marketing Manager at Allison Homes East Midlands, said: “We take great pride in supporting the communities where we build, finding as many opportunities as we can to give back, so it was a real pleasure to volunteer at RSPCA Woodside. It was so rewarding to spend time at the centre and meet the people who work tirelessly to improve the lives of cats and dogs in need.

“Our own pets are very close to our hearts, so supporting RSPCA Woodside, as they give the animals in their care the same loving environment we’d want for our pets, was a really heartwarming experience. We’d like to say a huge thank you to RSPCA Woodside for having us and wish them the best of luck for the future.”

Allison Homes East Midlands, headquartered in Castle Donington, is building new communities in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. Homes at St Mary’s Chase in Stanton under Bardon, Markfield and Finney Meadows in Shepshed are available now, with developments coming soon in Anstey, Rearsby and Cotgrave.
