Two brand new Electric Shuffle games are about to drop — here’s why 25th July is going to be a big day

Every great sport deserves a great celebration. On Saturday 25th July, Electric Shuffle, the shuffleboard and cocktail bar, marks the world’s first Global Shuffle Day, a global moment dedicated to the sport it has, albeit somewhat ambitiously, set out to make the world’s number one. Olympic committees, take note. Global Shuffle Day is where that mission starts.

To mark it, Electric Shuffle is dropping not one, but two brand new games — Studio 21 and The Edge. Designed and developed in-house and road-tested in prototype form by the brand’s most loyal guests so that the team could perfect them before launch, they are the first additions to its catalogue since 2021, taking its roster from four games to six. They launch worldwide on the day, and across its five UK venues: King’s Cross, Canary Wharf, London Bridge, Leeds and Manchester.

What’s on: treats and prizes galore

You don’t need a reservation to be part of Global Shuffle Day, although booking a table will guarantee you and your group to be among the first to experience both brand-new games. Every Electric Shuffle venue will have a shuffleboard table on standby all day for walk-ins to roll up, have a go at The Edge, and find out what they’re made of.

Score at different levels and unlock instant prizes on the spot, from Electric Shuffle merch to free drinks. Hit a top score of 120 and you win the ultimate prize of the day – a load of Electric Shuffle goodies and a free night out (at a future date) for you and your mates with a nice bar tab. Plus, 2-for-1 Margaritas are on offer all day, in every venue, a nod to Studio 21’s magic number 21.

The new games

Studio 21 is the shuffleboard equivalent of blackjack. Score exactly 21 in as few turns as possible. Go over, and players are sent back to their previous score. Bust. The first player to hit exactly 21 wins.

The Edge is a different kind of test: nerve, precision and the ability to resist the urge to overcook it. Players throw four consecutive pucks, with the furthest one added to their score. Everyone plays two rounds, and the highest total wins. Throw too far and the puck goes, along with the points. Stay close to the edge and something special could happen.

The Summer Shuffle Showdown

Global Shuffle Day is just the start of a full-blown Summer Shuffle Showdown. After Global Shuffle Day, from 26th July until 31st August, every group who books a game of shuffleboard will have a shot at more glory and more prizes.

Score 111 or above on The Edge between 26th July and 31st August and you’re in the Triple One Club, earning a place in the Hall of Fame with your photo pride of place on the wall to commemorate the achievement.

Each week of the Summer Shuffle Showdown, a new prize unlocks for Triple One Club members. Guests can expect to bag prizes like a free round of drinks for the group, brunch for six people, and the one everyone wants, a Pucky plushie, Electric Shuffle’s must-have cuddly mascot!

The sport that deserves better

Shuffleboard is currently ranked the 57th most popular sport in the world. Electric Shuffle would like a word about that.

The brand has made it its mission to change shuffleboard’s standing for good. Realistic? Perhaps not. Worth a try? Absolutely. A game where a millimetre separates success from disaster, where one bad throw undoes three good ones, and where the room goes silent for the final puck of the night, has more nail-biting drama in sixty seconds than most sports manage in ninety minutes. Football’s had its turn at the top spot. Time to make room. Global Shuffle Day is where that fight begins.

Book your spot

Bookings are open for Global Shuffle Day and the Summer Shuffle Showdown at all Electric Shuffle venues worldwide. Walk-ins welcome on the day.
