The sun shone brightly on the day – the perfect backdrop for Auria Travel, whose very name means gold and brilliance. Founder Markus Kendall-Young, an Ashby local with more than 30 years’ experience in the travel industry, said:
“We want to bring gold and brilliance back into travel, share our knowledge and experience within the store, and help customers travel beautifully. It’s great to be back in Ashby.”
Mayor Damilola Ajuri praised the investment in the town: “Today reminds us how important it is for young, ambitious brands to invest on the High Street and bring growth and local employment into Ashby. I – and the entire Town Council – wish Auria Travel every success and look forward to seeing you thrive within our community.”
Located at 1a Kilwardby Street, Auria Travel offers much more than standard package holidays. The agency specialises in bespoke, tailor-made experiences – from multi-destination adventures and luxury cruises to immersive cultural breaks – while also providing online booking for mainstream packages such as Jet2holidays, often at competitive prices and with no booking fees.
Auria Travel has also created local jobs and is building a UK-wide network of home-based “Travel Partners,” combining high street hospitality and in-house expertise with nationwide reach.
The Ashby store is now open to the public, inviting residents to pop in for expert holiday advice, inspiration, and a warm welcome.
