‘OVERLOOKED CONTRIBUTIONS’ EXPLORED IN NEW WINDRUSH EXHIBITION, LEICESTER

This exhibition, created and curated by Leicester’s Opal22, is a vital celebration of the Windrush Generation and the legacies they have created. It honours not only the courage of those who journeyed to Britain, but also the lives they built here. The families they raised, the communities they established, and the foundations they laid for the generations that followed.

Too often their contribution has been overlooked.

This exhibition is about recognition, pride, and gratitude. It is a chance to reflect on how the Windrush story continues to shape our city and our country today.
