Domestic & General continues US expansion with second acquisition

International appliance care specialist Domestic & General (D&G) has bought a state-of-the-art, data-driven repair platform from Nana Technologies in the US. The deal follows D&G’s acquisition of After Inc., a US warranty aftersales specialist, and is the latest step in the UK headquartered group’s expansion into the large and fragmented American marketplace.

D&G’s acquisition of Nana Technologies’ repair platform will significantly strengthen D&G’s service proposition in the US, driving better outcomes for its partners, technicians and customers – and accelerating the group’s ambition to meet strong US consumer demand for appliance care and protection.

The platform is data-driven and handles all aspects of the repair logistics process including parts, payments, appointment scheduling and communications. It will also deliver significant back-end efficiencies for D&G, optimising speed of service, delivering cost savings, reducing operational emissions, and simplifying engineer work planning.

D&G has a significant UK and EU customer base, operating in 12 markets including Iberia, Germany and Italy, covering 16 million people and 23 million appliances. In the UK approximately one in three households have a D&G policy.

Both acquisitions promise to significantly accelerate D&G’s expansion into the US warranty market, which is projected to be worth $63.8 billion by 2025, helping to build on the Group’s track record of more than 20 years of consecutive revenue and profit growth.

Gayle Terry, President of D&G US, said: “Bringing Nana Technologies’ repair platform into the D&G business is an important next step for our brand’s growth and customer service proposition in the US. We have been supporting consumers in the US for two years and are looking forward to deploying these new products and services to help our partners build customer loyalty and deepen relationships.”

David Zamir, Founder & CEO of Nana Technologies, said, “I’m immensely proud of the hard work and dedication our team has displayed in developing our state-of-the-art repair platform. This acquisition marks a new chapter, where our vision for streamlined repair processes that will drive local employment opportunities for tomorrow’s tradespeople will become a reality on a much larger scale thanks to D&G.”
