The visionary director Tim Burton was the guest of honour at Lucca Comics & Games 2022 today ahead of the European Fan Screening of the 1st episode of Wednesday, the highly anticipated TV series he directed available on Netflix from November 23rd.

After the press conference at the prestigious Teatro del Giglio in Lucca (also available on YouTube), Tim Burton greeted the public in Piazza San Michele, where more than 8.000 of fans and cosplayers of Wednesday (honored by wearing the wig with its iconic and unmistakable braids) and of the whole Addams Family were waiting for him.

Tonight, Tim Burton will also meet an audience of 500 fans at Cinema Moderno for the European Fan Screening of the 1st episode of Wednesday.

Wednesday, an 8 episodes series, is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Jenna Ortega is the protagonist Wednesday Addams, joined by Gwendoline Christie (Principal Larissa Weems), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin), Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Naomi J Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Riki Lindhome (Dr. Valerie Kinbott), and Christina Ricci (Marilyn Thornhill).

Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams) take on the other iconic roles in the Addams family.

Burton, who in his career has thrilled the world audience with iconic films such as – among others – “Beetlejuice”, “Batman”, “Edward Scissorhands”, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Ed Wood”, “Sleepy Hollow”, “Big Fish”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Corpse Bride”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Frankenweenie”, has directed the first 4 episodes of this TV series, created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar.
