Discover Interactive Installations at Dubai Design Week
Dubai Design Week returns for its eighth season, 8 – 13 November, providing individuals and companies with a platform to showcase their design experience and thinking by ways of installations, exhibitions, and overall experiential mediums. The annual event is one of the region’s most significant cultural occasions with a line-up of programming demonstrating Dubai’s commitment to design, and is scheduled to take place at d3, a regional hub for art, design, fashion and architecture. This year’s theme is Design with Impact, and installations will focus on how design innovation can have a positive effect on the future.
Nada Zuhair & Riham Ahmed are presenting their installation RI–BBORN at this year’s Dubai Design Week. The installation embraces sustainability featuring the three R’s – reduce, reuse, recycle. Through their display of ribbons combined with various salvaged materials, RI–BBORN has created a playful installation that encourages visitors to journey through and interact with the space. While the colour orange symbolises a powerful connection to multicultural communities, the blue colour evokes feelings of freedom, confidence, and stability associated with open space.

Cascade is an installation that reflects the essence of Saudi’s cultural hospitality and its southern region’s natural topographies. Bokja is presenting their boxing ring installation titled: Let’s talk about the Weather!
“We’re asking people to stop and engage in a conversation on some of the most pressing issues of today. Let’s talk about the weather, air our opinions, and agree to disagree on a disjointed assemblage of items raised on a boxing ring,” – spectators are going to be asked questions around climate change.
The Musical Ring is an installation presented by Sharabassy Built Environment Studio which combines light displays and music to create entertainment for visitors to gather, socialise and enjoy the music.
