Christmas Gift Guide 2022: Gifting a legacy that will last a lifetime
With the festive season fast approaching, many of us will start searching for the perfect gift for those closest to us in our lives. Whether it’s for a parent or grandparent, trying to think of the ultimate bespoke gift that they can get endless use out of is a familiar challenge faced by most every year.
StoryTerrace is the nation’s leading biography writing service, which matches clients with ghostwriters to turn their life story into a book.
How does StoryTerrace work?
Clients are matched with a ghostwriter based on personality, and after a number of one-to-one sessions, your life story – or the life story of a loved one – is turned into a beautiful book, embellished with your own images.
You will have regular opportunities to review and comment on your book as it progresses, as well as to upload photos and customise the appearance of the book. Your beautifully bound, hardcover book will then be printed and delivered to your home once it has been signed off. From beginning to end, the process normally takes eight to twelve weeks, depending on the length of your book.
Pricing
StoryTerrace offer three packages, or a custom service tailored to your specific request. Junior writers start at £1,800.
Rutger Bruining, CEO and Founder of StoryTerrace, discusses the importance of sharing experiences and memories with your family:
“Whilst the holidays aren’t defined by the exchanging of material gifts, it is understandable that lots of people want to find ways of showing their appreciation for their loved ones. At StoryTerrace, we have seen hundreds of people give the gift of documenting one’s life story to family members offering an individual the rare opportunity to reflect, write and be presented with their very own memoir – not necessarily for themselves but for their family to hold on to and treasure.
By documenting and recording the stories of our loved ones, not only can you preserve their legacy, but you can achieve a better understanding of the person that you are in the world today through who you come from. Many individuals often undermine their own life stories and experiences and do not think that they are worth documenting, which is always surprising to hear as these people always end up sharing great experiences that they have encountered throughout their lives.”
