As the longer nights draw in and Halloween looms, Great Scotland Yard Hotel, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, opens the door to its past with ‘Season of Secrets’ – a series of immersive dining experiences and new menus inspired by the colourful history of one of London’s most intriguing addresses. From its days as the London residence of the King of Scotland to its later life as the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police, the hotel has been at the heart of centuries of intrigue. This autumn, guests can uncover some of its stories through food and drink, with hidden histories, unexpected ingredients and culinary clues woven throughout the property.

Subtle culinary clues connect the hotel’s quartet of food and beverage offerings, encouraging guests to journey from venue to venue, following a trail of shared ingredients, techniques and stories to uncover its secrets.

THE PARLOUR – The Great Autumn Investigation

This autumn, afternoon tea becomes a case to crack. From September to November, The Great Autumn investigation transforms The Parlour’s award-winning afternoon tea into an immersive mystery. Guests become The Investigator, with each course revealing a new chapter and every sweet treat concealing a clue. Created using seasonal British ingredients, menu highlights include:

Secret Correspondence: A delicate tea cake disguised as a piece of secret correspondence
The Pocket Watch: Inspired by the 1929 pocket watch, this icon of Great Scotland Yard hotel is reimagined as an intricate miniature cake
THE 40 ELEPHANTS – Reimagined Cocktails for Autumn

Named after the infamous all-female criminal gang that once operated in London, The 40 Elephants pays homage to one of the capital’s most colourful chapters of criminal history. The bar’s new autumn cocktail menu draws on the rebellious spirit of the Elephant gang while drawing on rich seasonal flavours, with highlights including:

Queen Mary: Brown Butter, dark rum, red wine reduction and white chocolate garnish
Diamond Annie: Pickled cucumber fermented syrup, vodka, cinnamon
The Snatch: Whiskey butter thyme, Guiness reduction, bitters
SÍBÍN – Era Cocktails

Designed as a speakeasy bar and cleverly hidden behind a bookcase in the hotel lobby, Síbín is Great Scotland Yard’s secret after-hours destination. This autumn, the intimate cocktail and whisky bar explores its Irish heritage through Era Cocktails, with three collections tracing the evolution of the Síbín spirit.

The Beginnings: The Síbín Spirit celebrates Irish spirits, including the moonshine-inspired ‘A Night with Síbín’.
The Second Era: The Barrel Age brings more refined, barrel-aged cocktails, including a ‘Bobby Burns’ made with Blue Label, vermouth and bitters.
The New Age looks to the future, with contemporary creations incorporating fire, smoke and fermentation.
Guests can also unlock The Living Jukebox, a hidden chest containing music from different decades of British and international music, providing the soundtrack for an evening behind closed doors.

EKSTEDT AT THE YARD – Secret Chef and Sommelier’s Choice

At Michelin-led Ekstedt at The Yard, Season of Secrets takes a sophisticated twist. As part of its ‘Chef’s Table’ set menu, those in the know can request a secret Chefs Choice or a secret Sommelier’s Choice to perfectly complement their meal.

With its menu based on British ingredients from the sea, forest, meadows and fields cooked using ancient, open-fire cooking techniques, even the unknown is sure to delight.
