Allison Homes East Midlands helps unleash Leicester’s first ever Paw Festival
Regional homebuilder Allison Homes East Midlands recently sponsored The BIG Leicester Paw Festival, helping RSPCA Woodside to host the free event for the first time.

The BIG Leicester Paw Festival 2026
RSPCA Woodside rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes hundreds of cats and dogs every year, operating across Leicestershire, Rutland and Peterborough. In 2025, the charity rehomed 479 animals, cared for 624 and fostered 140.
The BIG Leicester Paw Festival took place on Saturday 12th September at Everards Meadows, bringing people together to celebrate dogs and raise vital funds. Dog-owners and dog-lovers alike spent the day exploring activity arenas, enjoying live demonstrations and purchasing goods from local vendors. All funds raised are going directly towards supporting the animals in RSPCA Woodside’s care.
A host of dog agility courses, breed meets, dog shows and educational sessions were on offer throughout the event. Allison Homes East Midlands was the overall sponsor for the breed meets, which included the ‘Sausage Squad Meet Up’ for dachshunds and ‘Golden Hour Gathering’ for golden retrievers and labradors.

Bethany Wilson, Social Media and Comms Officer at RSPCA Woodside, said: “The BIG Leicester Paw Festival was a fantastic success, and we’re absolutely delighted with how the day went. After keeping our fingers crossed for better weather this time, we were thrilled to see such a brilliant turnout.
“The dog competitions, breed meets, agility course and stalls were busy throughout the day, and it was wonderful to see so many dogs and their families enjoying themselves and making the most of the event.
“Most importantly, we’ve raised a fantastic amount for our centre, which will go directly towards caring for the dogs and cats who need us most. We’re still counting the final total, but we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, took part and supported us. It really was an incredible day for our community!”
Allison Homes East Midlands formed a relationship with RSPCA Woodside earlier this year, when four of its employees volunteered at the centre. The team helped sort through clothes donations the charity had received from the public to ensure they were suitable for selling in RSPCA Woodside shops across Leicestershire.
