OVERWHELMING RESPONSE TO LWA CHRISTMAS GIFT CAMPAIGN

OVERWHELMING RESPONSE TO LWA CHRISTMAS GIFT CAMPAIGN

Living Without Abuse (LWA), a local domestic abuse support charity, wish to thank everyone who supported their Christmas Gift Campaign.

The response has been overwhelming. This week Santa’s Elves from corporate sponsor Noventiq packed 317 gift bags which will be distributed to clients across the county, which for many will be the only gift they receive this Christmas.

Businesses and individuals got involved:
• Emma and all at the Mill on the Soar Broughton Astley organised a collection box and quiz
• Abbie at Fisher German and Lucy at Saint-Gobain Barrow organised colleague donation points at their offices
• Jade coordinated a gift giving campaign at Primark Loughborough with the store donating gift bags to help with the packing
• The Olive Tree café in Ashby encouraged their customers to donate
• Loughborough WI coordinated a campaign
• Beauty Banks charity donated toiletries
• Dipti and colleagues at Leicestershire County police raised funds to provide 2 large donations of gifts
• Sophia Kyprianou aka The Curator Educator donated craft kits
• Ava-Jane gifted her much loved silver cross dolls pram, doll and accessories
• Sian’s sons had a clear out of their toys as they wanted to share what they had with other boys less fortunate this Christmas
• Emma and Katie donated boxes of toys

Emily Corrigan, Head of Fundraising: ‘You cannot underestimate the impact that these gifts will have on families and individuals who have been exposed to the trauma of domestic abuse. Knowing that they are cared for and valued by people in their local community makes such a difference. Christmas is a difficult time for our clients so we’d like to thank all those who have supported this campaign. Merry Christmas to all!’
