Muntada Aid – Landmark 50th Mission to Take Place in Tunisia this September as Little Hearts nears 3,000 Lifesaving Operations
Muntada Aid’s flagship project, Little Hearts, is set to embark on its 50th mission next month in Tunisia. Since its inception in April 2012, Little Hearts has been dedicated to providing free life-saving heart surgeries to children with congenital heart defects from underprivileged backgrounds, irrespective of gender, race, or religion.
Over the past decade, Little Hearts has conducted 2,990 life-saving operations in 13 countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia. This upcoming mission in Tunisia on the 20th – 27th of September marks a significant milestone for the charity, highlighting its commitment to bringing essential medical care to some of the world’s most vulnerable children.

Every year, approximately 1.5 million children are born globally with a congenital heart defect (CHD), a condition that can be fatal without prompt medical intervention. Tragically, 10% of babies born with CHD do not survive their first year of life, and thousands more fail to reach adulthood due to the lack of specialised medical expertise and infrastructure, especially in underdeveloped countries.
