South Lodge Care Home Achieves “Good” CQC Rating
South Lodge Care Home is celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Inspectors visited the 96-bed luxury care home in Leicester during May 2024, where it demonstrated unwavering dedication to enhancing care standards.
While only the ‘Safe’ area was inspected during their May visit, South Lodge Care Home has achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all five CQC assessment criteria overall: safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led.
This recognition reflects significant improvements in the quality of care, staff training, and resident satisfaction at the home.
The CQC report commended South Lodge Care Home for its innovative approaches to resident care, including the implementation of personalised care plans and engaging activities designed to enhance both mental and physical well-being.
Residents expressed their satisfaction, with one stating, “The staff are brilliant; they look after me very well.” Another resident added, “It’s a lovely place to live; everyone is very kind.”
The report also highlighted the extensive training provided to staff. Families of residents echoed this sentiment, with one relative commenting, “I have peace of mind knowing my family member is well cared for and safe.”
The CQC recognised the strong leadership and effective management at South Lodge Care Home. The management team was praised for their proactive approach to quality improvement, consistently addressing issues to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
