BUDDING HELPERS JOIN LEICESTERSHIRE HOMEBUILDER TO CONSTRUCT SENSORY GARDEN

Pupils at a school in Market Harborough have assisted David Wilson Homes in its renovation works to create a sensory garden.

Ridgeway Primary Academy called upon the help of the Leicestershire housebuilder to support its project to create pathways and build some raised beds to add to the school’s outdoor learning and reflection space.

David Wilson Homes, which is building a range of properties nearby at its Burnmill Grange development, took on the project and sent its site team and contractors to assist the school.

Under the safe supervision of the housebuilder’s experienced team, a small group of pupils jumped at the opportunity to offer a helping hand with the works, and ultimately get their hands dirty for the benefit of their school.

Dave Turner, Head of School at Ridgeway Primary Academy, said: “Having the team on site has given a real boost to the school. The work they did looks brilliant and will benefit the children and staff for years to come.”

David Wilson Homes has recently stepped in to complete a range of renovation projects at Ridgeway Primary Academy, a member of Learn Academies Trust, in Market Harborough.

The school reached out to the homebuilder to assist with a range of tasks to improve its facilities and, prior to this, had donated topsoil and completed works on a wellbeing garden to provide a place of reflection and remembrance for schoolchildren.

Burnmill Grange is located on Burnmill Road, close to Ridgeway Primary Academy, and may be home to many of the school’s new pupils as the community progresses.
