Modern spectacle maker Cubitts offers free repairs on Black Friday to encourage repairing over replacing
Black Friday Frame Rehab
For Black Friday, rather than buying one more thing, Cubitts is urging customers to help them make their current frames last a lifetime. On 25th November, eight of its stores are offering a complimentary rehab service – polishing, tightening, and putting-back-together frames.
Customers can sign up for a spot online and Frame Rehab is available at our stores in Cambridge, Brighton and Leeds, and in London at Cheapside, Belgravia, Coal Drops Yard, Hampstead, Soho and Spitalfields on this day only.
Anew donations
From 17th November, Cubitts stores in Brighton, Coal Drops Yard, and Borough will begin accepting customer’s old Cubitts spectacles. Customers will be encouraged to donate their old frames back when beginning to wear new ones.
Its workshop will then begin deep cleaning. Polishing. Buffing. Until they emerge. Anew. They will be returned to the shelves as a limited collection. With the resplendence of a brand new frame and stories of former lives. They begin (and end) at £75 with all profits donated to the London Wildlife Trust.
Both of these initiatives are part of Cubitts’ commitment to Redux. To bring back. To revive.
