Ever wanted to know what the most Googled dog costumes are? Nope? Didn’t think so. But we did.

(You can thank us later for the useless pub quiz knowledge you’ll gather here.)

If you’re dressing in a cheesy jumper this festive season, why shouldn’t the dog be tacky, too?

Love ‘em or loathe ‘em, dog costumes for all occasions have been steadily growing in popularity for years, and 2022 is no different. And according to Google search data, pet parents are desperate to dress their doggos as a figgy pudding.

For information you didn’t think you needed to know, digital marketing agency, The Audit Lab, released the top five festive-themed pooch outfits, along with where you can get your paws on them.

Christmas pudding

The top-searched dog costume is the traditional Christmas pudding. And why not? Even in your imagination it looks adorable.

This one from Pets at Home is just £8 and comes complete with a hat. Amazing.

Christmas turkey

Taking inspiration yet again from our dinner tables, the second most-searched for dog costume is a Christmas turkey.

A turkey hat requires far less effort on your part. All you have to do is cross your fingers that they can keep it on long enough for a TikTok. And just £3.99, too.

Elf

Santa’s Little Helper just got even cuter. This elf costume fits over your dog’s front legs and comes with stuffed arms holding a little present – a bone, obviously – a red collar, printed black belt and a cute little elf hat complete with holly. It’s currently £23.99 in sizes x-small to large.

Father Christmas

No list would be complete without the big man himself. This super cute dog coat comes in Santa’s signature red with a black belt, and even a little pointy hood.

At £11.99, your furry friend will love tearing the paper off this on Christmas Day. Or they’ll hate it.

Christmas tree

Rounding off the list you’d never thought you’d read: a Christmas tree costume. This simply awesome dress-up takes the form of a cloak that you drape ever-so elegantly around your dog’s shoulders (do dogs have shoulders?) and secure under their chin. Pull the hood up to top that festive fir with a star. At £16.07, it’s a must-have for 2022.
