Veteran folk rockers Lindisfarne take to the stage at Leicester’s 02 Academy this April.

It was back in 1970 that the late Alan Hull and Rod Clements emerged from Tyneside to carve out a unique place for themselves fronting one of British rock’s most original bands.
Famed for hits such as “Run For Home”, “Meet Me On The Corner” and “Lady Eleanor”, the ever-popular Geordies under the steerage of Clements enjoyed a run of sell-out appearances in 2023 at over 50 venues nationwide.
Says Rod: “We’re not exactly shoe-gazers – we have a lot of fun on stage and I feel that permeates into the audience so that we all wind up sharing the moment.
“People keep coming back to Lindisfarne and while that carries on, we carry on. Each year we seem to put on more shows and we’re thrilled to be playing the Leicester 02 Academy”.

A remarkable 4CD, 90-track anthology ‘Singing A Song In The Morning Light’ includes no less than 77 hitherto-unreleased tracks, with several dozen titles previously undocumented.
It features revelatory early demos of “Lady Eleanor”, “Winter Song”, “Scarecrow Song”, “Clear White Light – Part 2” and other Lindisfarne classics, the original, semi-mythical “Clear White Light – Part 1”, recordings with backing from Alan and Rod’s former band Brethren and psychedelic band Skip Bifferty as well as other collaborations alongside many solo performances.

Almost 30 years after Alan’s tragically early passing, ‘Singing A Song In The Morning Light’ is a thrilling addition to the body of work left behind by one of the all-time great British songwriters.

The anthology is released by Cherry Red Records on February 23rd 2024.
