Moneyzine.com revealing which industries Brits believe to be harder than the role of the PM. We also explored the difference in pay rises across these industries in comparison to the PM’s salary increases over the years.

With the rising cost of living, pay rises are vital to the livelihood of many Brits. The numerous industries striking in recent weeks demonstrates the clear frustrations with their salaries – yet the Prime Minister and fellow politicians are yet to make changes whilst living on rather comfortable salaries themselves.

I have included below the main findings from our research for your perusal.

Key Findings:

52% of Brits believe being a Nurse is harder than the role of the Prime Minister.
Despite this Nurses salaries have only increased by £2600 since 2011.
Real wages for Nurses have actually fallen by 8% since 2010.
Whilst the Prime Ministers salary has increased by £22,406 since 2011 – more than 8 times that of Nurse’s pay rise.
The PM enjoys two salary increases from both their MP (£84,144) and PM (£80,807) role.
Paediatric surgeons (61%), Firefighters (51%), Soldiers and GP’s (45%) made up the remaining top 5 jobs Brits believed to be harder than being PM.

“This data helps put the Prime Minister’s earnings into stark contrast with other professions. If nurses, firefighters and soldiers all have a harder time than the PM, should their pay increases not at least rise in-line with the PM’s own?”
