Saudi Health Minister Hails WHO’s 75th Anniversary

Saudi Health Minister Fahad Aljalajel congratulated the WHO on its 75th anniversary, conveying the King and Crown Princess’ greetings to the global organization for its impeccable public health record.

The minister added that Saudi Arabia has been a founding member of the organization since 1948 and has been a strong partner in achieving its global health agenda, which includes pandemic prevention and response, leading to an increase in human life expectancy, and the eradication of widespread diseases such as smallpox.

Aljalajel added that despite all the achievements made over the past 75 years, the world still needs more integrated efforts to support the organization in achieving its goals to protect and promote public health.

The minister affirmed continuous support for the WHO’s program “Health for All,” which includes access to universal health coverage, digital health, patient safety, and antimicrobial resistance.

Aljalajel hailed Saudi professionals working with the WHO international negotiating teams and specialized patient safety committees and gave special thanks to the members of the task force working on the eradication of polio.
