SEA LIFE BIRMINGHAM REVEALS THE LATEST SHOCK RECOUPLING, AND IT’S ADORABLE!
Following the launch of Love Island, it seems love is in the air and the sea, as National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham has revealed two of its adorable Gentoo penguins have coupled up this month.
Single lad Flash has finally put all his eggs in one basket, settling down with one of the aquariums budding bachelorettes, fellow Gentoo penguin Madonna.
Born at SEA LIFE Birmingham in 2019, Flash is one of the OGs at the aquarium and it appears after a dramatic journey looking for love, he has finally found his match in Madonna.
Not one to be mugged off, Madonna has been turning heads since she arrived at SEA LIFE Birmingham in November 2016. After six years of testing out the vibe, being pulled for chats and doing anything not to cross girl code, Madonna has found her type on paper.
Fearless of being pied, Flash laid it on factor 50 to work his way up the ‘pecking’ order and after rumours began to circulate, the pair have finally coupled up.
Amy Langham, General Manager at National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham, said: “We are so happy to see Madonna and Flash have become an item. They’re renowned throughout the animal care team as two of the friendliest penguins we have here in Birmingham, so they’ve taken on the label as the aquarium’s power couple.
“Madonna is known to love the attention, not just from penguins but humans too, she’s even partial to sitting on the animal care team’s laps when they go into the enclosure. The penguin pair are practically inseparable at the moment, and it’s been a long time coming for Madonna, who has been here since 2016. Penguins don’t tend to play the field, once they’ve found the one for them, they are mated for life, so we’re hoping this will be a lifelong partnership.”
