Called “the powerful, most sought-after female healer” by Grazia, here are Shayoon and her husband’s Alexander’s 7-step morning ritual that will leave you feeling more balanced and centered while increasing your productivity throughout the day. Their joint and individual works have been featured in Vogue, Entrepreneur, Success, Grazia, LA Weekly and ABC’s Shark Tank, to name a few.
1. Stop the scroll, switch off screens at least 1-hour before bed – Your morning ritual starts the night before. Disconnect from content, programming, and media to allow yourself to come into a relaxed state. Switch on “do not disturb” so you can turn off any unnecessary distractions to get a deep and restful sleep.
2. Avoid screens in the morning – Take time to check in with yourself before you check in with the rest of the world. This is your time to come into yourself and welcome the new day.
3. Make yourself a cup of tea – The process of making tea is a part of the ritual itself, so take your time. Try brewing a blend of lemon, hot water and fresh ginger. The goal is to activate your nervous system and kick start your metabolism. Sip slowly and savor the moment to awaken your senses
4. Perform light movements – Get your body moving by going for a walk, doing some light stretches or yoga. The whole point is to awaken your body as you prepare for the day.
5. Mediate – Unplug to recharge by resting into a short morning meditation to set an intention for the day. This will help ease stress and anxiety while providing focus and clarity to carry you through the day.
6. Plan your day – Jot down a list of your top priorities. Focus on 3-4 core tasks to help you maximize your productivity. Stay away from work for works sake by compartmentalizing these key to-do’s.
7. Go after your day with love and light – Embrace your day from this focused and centered space. Create from a place of love and light and flow with whatever life brings you.
