STEM Recruitment Giant Matchtech joins forces with AFBE-UK to increase diversity and promote Inclusion
AFBE-UK is excited to announce its partnership with Matchtech, who join the organisation as its newest member. Matchtech is a STEM recruitment specialist, with over 35 years’ experience in successfully matching engineering professionals with hiring employers in sectors across the engineering industry, all over the world. Motivated by the global impact their work has, their purpose is to provide the skills needed to build a better future – one job at a time.
AFBE-UK are excited to be involved with supporting Matchtech on their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy for STEM recruitment as well as their drive to influence the STEM industry through best practice in DEI. Matthew Wragg CEO of Matchtech had this to say of the new partnership:
“At Matchtech, we are committed to taking decisive action against inequality in the workplace, both for our colleagues and for the candidates and clients we represent. We are delighted to be partnering with AFBE-UK to better inform our EDI strategy and ensure fair representation across our own business and the industries we operate in. We believe that avenues for progression should be open to all and look forward to working with AFBE-UK to make those pathways accessible.”
By connecting with AFBE-UK’s extensive network of employers and professionals (some already part of Matchtech network), the partnership represents a positive step in continuing to better understand the barriers in recruitment and progression for people from minority backgrounds when applying to engineering jobs and progressing through to leadership positions.
“AFBE-UK is delighted to welcome Matchtech as a new member,” commented Nike Folayan, AFBE-UK’s Co-founder.
“We were very pleased to hear that Matchtech was interested in partnering with us, following discussions with Matthew Wragg we think this is an exciting and strategic opportunity to make real impact in the recruitment space. AFBE-UK will work with Matchtech on ways to ensure there is fair representation not only within the STEM industry but also within the recruitment industry space.”
