Mercedes fined £21.9k for not declaring Lewis Hamilton’s nose stud – which other sports have banned jewellery?

Lewis Hamilton has been let off by stewards at the Singapore Grand Prix for driving while wearing his nose stud. The seven-times Formula One champion has had a long-running dispute with the FIA and resorted to removing his nose stud back in July to avoid being banned from racing at Silverstone.

Though his choice to wear the stud in Singapore triggered a visit to the stewards, Hamilton told them doctors had advised him to leave the stud in, rather than continue to take it in and out, on medical grounds. FIA Deputy Medical Delegate Dr Ian Roberts looked at the medical report and concurred with the opinion. As a result, the stewards decided to take no further action.

The situation left us wondering what rules other sports have enforced regarding jewellery. Experts at UK retailer Steven Stone have done some research and revealed everything you need to know!
