With this week marking National Work Life Week, it’s important to continue promoting a healthy work-life balance to ensure job satisfaction and morale.

With this in mind, Moneypenny conducted a survey of 1,000 UK office workers to uncover the most desired job perks by employees. They also examined 1,000 job listings on Indeed to see if the perks being offered matched the perks wanted by workers.

Five of the perks most desired by employees are:

Pension (42%)
Sick pay (41%)
Flexible work hours (40%)
Ability to work from home (30%)
On-site parking (23%)
It’s no surprise to see flexible work hours and the ability to work from home rank as some of the most important benefits to employees.

Flexible working hours allow employees to have more freedom over their schedule with the ability to move shifts around providing a healthier work-life balance.

Now let’s take a look at the top five perks being offered by employers:

Pension (41%)
Ability to work from home (22%)
Gym (12%)
Flexible work hours (11%)

Employees surveyed will be pleased to see both flexible work hours and the ability to work from home ranked amongst the top five perks being offered via job listings.

Since the pandemic, some employers have become more receptive to allowing workers to operate from the comfort of their homes. This National Work Life Week, this perk could be imperative to ensure the continuation of a healthy work-life balance.
