The most influential British tennis players revealed – Raducanu’s massive earning potential!
New research reveals the most influential stars of British tennis on social media.
The study, conducted by TennisWorldUSA.org, analysed the Instagram follower count, engagement rates, and reach of the top ranked British players to establish those who are the most influential, and who could be earning the most through their social media platforms.
Emma Raducanu topped the list with 2.5m followers, over 30% more than any other British player. This combined with an engagement rate of 8.3%, and a potential reach close to 400,000, mean she could earn up to an estimated £15,600 for a single sponsored Instagram post. At just 20 years old, Raducanu’s high level of influence is all the more impressive.
In second place is Andy Murray, with 1.9m followers. The iconic Scottish player boasts an engagement rate of 6.5%, potential reach close to 325,000 users, and post impressions over 390,000. This sees Murray’s estimated earnings per sponsored Instagram post up to £12,700.
Leicester’s Katie Boulter comes in third place with a following of over 160,000. Her reach of almost 50,000 and post impressions coming close to 60,000 mean that Boulter could earn up to £1,900 with a simple sponsored post.
The British number one ranked male, Cameron Norrie, comes in fourth on the influence list. Nearing 150,000 followers, Norrie’s posts make around 55,000 impressions each while his stories are seen by almost 15,000 regularly. With a reach of 44,500, Norrie could earn up to £1,800 with a single sponsored post on the platform.
Heather Watson makes number five on the list with just over 124,000 followers. Watson’s Instagram boasts a reach of almost 40,000 and her stories are shown to close to 50,000 accounts. Potential earnings for the Wimbledon mixed doubles winner reach up to £1,600 per post.
24 year old Katie Swan comes sixth with followers nearing the 100,000 mark. An engagement rate of 5.9% and reach close to 33,000 mean that Swan has the potential to earn up to £1,300 per sponsored post.
At seventh in the list is Jamie Murray. The elder Murray brother, Jamie has an Instagram following of 86,000. A reach just fewer than 30,000 and engagement rate of 6.5% give him the potential to make up to £1,200 with a sponsored post.
Jack Draper comes in eighth with just fewer than 65,000 followers. While the Sutton star’s posts create close to 30,000 impressions, his engagement rate is in fact the highest on the whole list at 11.7%. Draper could make up to close to £1,000 per sponsored post.
Jodie Burrage makes ninth spot on the list with just short of 55,000 followers and a reach of almost 21,000. Burrage’s estimated earnings from sponsored posts reach to just over £800 each.
Rounding out the list in tenth is Harriet Dart with just over 32,000 followers. With her reach extending to almost 15,000 accounts, Dart could make up to £580 with one sponsored post.
A spokesperson from TennisWorldUSA.org commented on the findings: “Few nations are as invested in their tennis as Britain, so it is no wonder that their top players have the influence and the potential to earn that they do.
These findings certainly speak for the popularity of the players reaching high heights in the tennis world as well as indicating the enormous potential that some of these players have to achieve stardom on a global scale”.
