Animal Ball Celebrates The 20th Anniversary of The Elephant Family
The Animal Ball will take place at Lancaster House to celebrate the 20th anniversary of wildlife conservation charity the Elephant Family – established by Her Majesty The Queen’s late brother Mark Shand, who was deeply passionate about protecting and supporting elephants and Asian wildlife.
Co-hosted with The Tintra Foundation and in association with Xerjoff, the event will see over 250 guests from artistic, environmental, fashion, film, political and literary worlds turn out to raise significant funds for conservation projects across Asia.
The evening will include a series of musical performances from the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and singer-songwriter Tom Odell. Lord Dalmeny, who has helped to raise over £120m for charitable organisations over the course of his career, will lead an auction which includes artwork from Mark Quinn and David Yarrows; an original drawing from artist Charlie Mackesy and other exquisite prizes from event partners and supporters.
The evening promises glamour with guests wearing masks and headwear supplied by a range of designers including Aquazurra, Azza Fahmy, Christian Louboutin, Dior, Burberry, Manolo Blahnik, Manish Maholtra and Phillip Colbert. Event partner and internationally renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has created masks for the event with a design paying homage to animals such as the Bengal tiger which benefits from the funds raised at the ball.
Partnership lies at the heart of the charity’s endeavours including their fundraising work. Italian resortwear and lifestyle brand Emporio Sirenusewho are curating the table settings for the ball have donated an exclusive range of hand painted ceramics for silent auction on the night. Title sponsor and international perfumier Xerjoff has designed a limited collection perfume, CoExistence, inspired by Asia’s magnificent wildlife, with sales going to the charity. Halcyon Gallery generously donated the Awards and the star auction lot. Event partners Quintessentially and My Beautiful City have produced and creative directed the evening which will also feature a unique desert experience from Petersham Nurseries.
