Harry and Meghan ‘trying to take down’ Prince and Princess of Wales
PRINCE Harry and Meghan are “trying to take down” Prince William and the Princess of Wales, according to a leading royal commentator.
US-based expert Kinsey Schofield told GB News: “The impeccable way that they stay focused and they stay on topic is really admirable. I know specifically with the entertainment media outlets here in the States, they really wanted to push some of these scandals.
“But you just saw William and Catherine show up every day – I saw Catherine today at Harvard.
“I mean, they had to pull the woman out of the building. She wanted to stop and talk to everyone, take photos.
“And you know, that’s not running away from the problem and I think that that’s really impressive, because there are people that are trying to bring them down right now, specifically, the Sussexes.”
Speaking to Stephen Dixon and Ann Diamond during Breakfast on GB News, she continued: “The more that they show that their intentions are pure, and they’re looking to make the world a better place with initiatives that are tangible like Earthshot, I think that they’re going to continue to rise above.
Kinsey said she was “surprised” to see The View, which is a very liberal talk show in the States hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, criticise Meghan and Harry.
She said:“They talked about Harry and Megan’s new Netflix show, and all of the women ripped into the trailer and said, I’m so sick of these two crying. When does it stop? When did they let things go? When did they grow up and move on?
“I’ve never heard that from them before. They’ve always been very team Saint Meghan.”
“This is the first time we’re kind of seeing some of these bigger liberal stars turn on them.”
Her comments come as a GB News opinion poll this week revealed how Brits believe Kate and William are a far better bet to fly the flag overseas for the UK than anyone else in the Royal Family.
More than half of the public (56%) see William and Catherine as better adverts for the monarchy abroad, it found.
This compares to 8% who opted for King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla, and 7% who selected Prince Harry and Meghan. The remaining 29% said they “didn’t know” or “preferred not to say”.
The survey of 1,208 adults was carried out by PeoplePolling, a member of the British Polling Council (BPC), and it will come as a welcome boost for William and Kate who have been met by boos during their tour of the US.
Commenting on the findings of the poll, Professor Matt Goodwin said: “These numbers once again show that, as far as the British are concerned, Harry and Meghan are nowhere near as popular as Will and Kate. More than half the country see the Prince and Princess of Wales as the better advert for the monarchy while not even one in ten see Harry and Meghan the same way.
“King Charles III, who has opted for a slimmed-down monarchy, was clearly right to push forward Will and Kate”.
